Executive design and construction of mechanical and biological waste treatment plant, Enna

The contract required designing, building, and managing the municipal solid waste sorting and treatment plant with capacity of around 55,000 t/year and bio-stabilization of the organic fraction by mechanical sorting in Contrada Cozzo Vuturo, Enna. With a mechanical treatment line (sorting) and a biological treatment line (anaerobic + aerobic) of approx. 20,000 t/year biodegradable fraction treatment capacity, the former line included a receiving stage and a subsequent pre-treatment stage (shredding, deferrization, screening) inside a precast concrete shed; the organic matter bio-stabilization phase takes place in the same shed in
maturation biocells. The biogas is then used to produce electric and thermal power.
