Executive design and construction of mechanical and biological treatment plant in Bellolampo (PA)

The contract required the executive design and construction of a 24,000 sq m municipal solid waste treatment plant in Bellolampo Contrada in the province of Palermo with an annual treatment capacity of 350,000 tons/y (around 1,000 tons/d) for the mechanical and biological treatment of the residual and organic fraction of municipal waste. Unsorted waste (ferrous and nonferrous metals) will be treated to produce SSF (secondary solid fuel) with high calorific value; organic fractions will be treated for use as landfill and environmental recovery.
The plant is intended to reduce the volume, weight and level of hazard of material subsequently used as landfill. Executive design and construction of mechanical and biological treatment plant in Bellolampo (PA).
