This project consisted of constructing the Cornedo Vicentino (Lot 5) of the new SS No. 246 variant to a length of around 3.5 km, making a trench tunnel through the town center, and laying a level crossing on Via Roma.

The 600 m long trench tunnel is structured in reinforced concrete with load-bearing diaphragm walls at the side containing a tank-type foundation in reinforced concrete.

The cross-section of the tunnel and the road is 12 m and divided as follows:

• 1 lane in each direction of travel 3.75 m wide
• 2 paved side embankments 1.50 m wide
• 2 grassy marginal verges 0.75 wide at both ends of the tunnel.
