Executive design and execution of works for the Grosseto-Fano E78 highway network
The Grosseto-Fano E78 highway network is one of the most important east-west connections between roads running north-south along between the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic coasts. The network begins on Via Aurelia in Grosseto and ends on the Adriatica A14 Autostrada near the Fano tollbooth in the Marche Region. Operations widened the roadbed to 4 lanes in the section of the E78 highway between Grosseto and Siena from Km 30+040 and from Km 41 +600 on the Paganico State Road No. 223 in the towns of Monticiano (Province of Siena) and Civitella Paganico (Province of Grosseto) for a total length of approx. 11.50 km.
The most significant roadworks included the five newly-constructed viaducts, three bore tunnels, nine trench tunnels and the upgrading of the 4 existing viaducts.

Highlights: The Farma viaduct 792 m long deck consists of a mixed steel-concrete section continuous beam with over 14 spans varying from 30 to 114 m length (along the Farma stream bed). The piers in the bed reach heights of 70 to 95 m.
