Project Description

Morphological restoration operations for the environmental and hydrogeological requalification of the Val di Brenta area

In order to retain sediments in the lagoon, to avoid spreading pollutants from polluted areas, and to return the lagoon bed to normal conditions, the lagoon’s natural morphological structures that had disappeared were restored and those still present were fortified. In countering ecosystem disintegration and interrupting the degradation of the Val di Brenta (Chioggia) area, the mudflats and sandbanks that play key roles in maintaining the environmental balance of the lagoon were reconstructed and protected.
