Renovation and restructuring of a social housing complex

The abandoned building complex in Via Antegnati, Milan, initially designed to house offices and archives of which only the load-bearing structure remained was subjected to careful restoration. In a 38,600 m² usable area, 502 social housing units were restructured into 5 social housing buildings around courtyards. The ground floor features a large urban meeting place with areas for socialization, recreation, and sports.
