Construction of a residential complex and shopping center

Construction of a shopping mall and a residential center in Laives (BZ) consisting of 10 buildings with approx. 5,000 sq m area on two underground levels and apartments on the upper floors. All nearly the same (6-7 floors with essentially square floor plan), the buildings are distinguished by their different terraces of considerable size that rendered construction particularly challenging.

The parts above ground were built with mixed concrete structures (floors made of solid slabs and pillars) and load-bearing masonry in blocks of mineralized wood chipboard.

Jet grouting and anchored perimetral diaphragms were adopted for support during excavation. Special “vasca bianca” resin-injected waterproof technology was used for concrete structures on the underground levels to contain the groundwater.
