Building and urban redevelopment of a residential and commercial complex on Via Beethoven, Ferrara

The building and urban redevelopment of Ferrara’s former Palaspecchi area have enabled the recovery of five commercial/office buildings previously intended for residential and commercial use. The ground floor renovated for commercial space, office space, and community services overlooks a large landscaped area. Each of the existing buildings was stripped-out to leave only load-bearing structures in place, and as many as 233 housing units were upgraded to Class A3 energy efficiency. Both the underground parking space and the technological rooms necessary for the distribution of district heating were given higher regulatory and functional upgrades
