Construction of the new Municipal Theater of Vicenza

Set in a former industrial area near the walls of the historic center, the theater is one of the last works designed by Architect Gino Valle to be another one of the city’s icons.

The line of vertical load-bearing elements in reinforced concrete elements features impressive spans and cantilevering, The central gallery that seats 900 takes the form of a drum surrounded by high reinforced concrete walls. The façade’s alternating bands of red brick and white stone inserts match the medieval walls behind the building and the city’s colors.
