Covering an area of around 130 km², the Tidone irrigation area draws its water from the stream of the same name to store it the Molato Dam reservoir in the municipality of Nibbiano. After its recent renovation, the dam provides approx. 9 million cubic meter capacity. The irrigation of part of the Val Tidone district can also rely on water from the Po River tapped by the Pievetta pumping station in Castel S. Giovanni that has also been recently renovated and upgraded.
