Project Description

The works performed for the first lot of the extension of the port’s South Canal consisted in completing the ship turning basin, excavating the section of the South Navigable Canal almost 500 m long with a trapezoidal 11 m draught and a 120 m wide bottom, and creating embankments with an average 3 base slope and 1 m height in the lower part with an average 2 base slope and 1 height in the upper part.

The South Navigable Canal embankments were lined with stone in the breakwater area at heights of 1.70 and + 1.60 m above sea level.
