Vittadello Group has been working on the reclamation of the “Collina” area at the Mantua petrochemical plant since 2014. Now that the first phase of waste removal in the extensive confined area has been concluded with the positive results certified by control agencies, the initial backfilling phase with certified quarry soils was recently begun. An innovative system of expressly-designed conveyor belts now conveys the soils to the excavated area.

After backfilling has been completed, the entire containment will be thrusted by hydraulic jacks to begin the second phase of excavation for reclamation.
