The work required restoring the canals to navigable status, reconstructing the sandbars, and rebuilding embankments against the Casoni delle Sacche and Millecamp areas. Canals some 6 km long were created by moving almost 40,000 cubic meters of lagoon sediment. The new Sacca Piccola and Pezzegalo sandbars were built in a concave shape against the prevailing wind action to facilitate the deposit of sediment by waves.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div
